With a number of paintings in progress , it is nice to go to where the horses are just to see them.
So I leave the paintings in there varied stages of completion on the studio floor and leave early to go to the Grove stud just outside Fermoy town in county Cork, Ireland.
Every time I go there the feel of the place stays with me for the day and again when looking back on the photograph's I might have taken of a range of horses and ages . This is the place where ideas can be realised in an instant, by the turn of a head the sound of the hoofs or the swagger of the horse as they glide towards you and passed you , the curious yearling's who I do not mind admitting make me nervous as we approach a group of them in the field but on -wards we go regardless to chance a hello with the twitchy little ones , on a warmer day it will be here that I will be sitting somewhere with my sketch book trying to capture these guys who will be bigger and bolder and that is something to look forward to. Here are a few photographs from today.
